In the Gospel of John, the word "sign" is also used to mean "miracle." Unlike the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke, John does not record a lot of Jesus' miracles; there are only 7 mentioned, but each of the signs tells us something very important about who Jesus is and the new Kingdom he was inaugurating.
