On the shortest day of the year, we gather to proclaim the sure and certain hope of the gospel: the light of Jesus Christ shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5). In the midst of a hurried season, this quiet service offers space to rest in God’s promises, to lament and to rejoice, and to remember that Christ, the Light of the World, has come and is coming again. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together, nourished by grace as we wait in hope.
